Controlling Relationship
This article is based around a controlling relationship and we’ll focus on how to determine seeing one and if you are a part of
one. The majority of individuals are taught to go to school, do well, go to college, and get a well paying job. We are taught skills based
on English, Math, Gym, some sort of foreign language, maybe a Reading class or something of that nature. What we are not taught
however; are skills based around thinking for ourselves and most importantly, relationships. We find ourselves dating with a level of
blindness that we tend to ignore which in return, keeps up happy. More often times than not, we choose to seek out the problems based in the
relationship after the relationship has seemed to have been established and been going on for a length of time. Let us break down and see what could cause a controlling relationship.

A controlling relationship is based on lack of self image. How can that be so? Well, let’s think about it like this. You have a
boyfriend or girlfriend that is afraid of losing their partner, as a result, they becoming controlling. They want to know when and where
their partner is somewhere. The partner, however, is afraid to lose their boyfriend or girlfriend as well. As a result, they let the
significant other continue with the controlling. This is the case 100% of the time. After a period has passed, a controlling relationship
can turn into an abusive relationship. What the majority of people do not understand is that a controlling relationship starts from the
beginning.
This unhealthy version of a relationship can happen from either gender. It’s always been easier to spot with men because of how
the male deals with it. The women, however; are not so easy to spot but it’s also natural because angry women in a home are somewhat
typical. After all, women tend to take over all of the jobs at home. How can we spot this? Well, if you decide to cancel on your partner
and go hang out with your friends, or just ignore your partner, expect an argument in the making or something of that sort. If you have
plans to do something without your partner, you do them, and a fight still takes place, something is wrong. In this situation, expect a
controlling relationship. Being clingy also promotes a controlling relationship.
Clingy could be defined as, attached at the hip, or has to always be with the other. Let’s put this into an example, if you come
home a good bit later than normal, expect caution and in some cases, anger. If you come home 10 minutes late due to traffic or a train, and
a fight breaks out, expect a controlling relationship.
It is normal to want to be taken care of, but there is line that should not be crossed that, in often times, gets crossed. In the
case that you experience a controlling relationship, action should be done. If not, you may be facing potential for an abusive
relationship. If this is a problem, sit your partner down, and have a gentle talk and work out the problems. If nothing gets accomplished,
then you need to find counseling to get something accomplished. A controlling relationship can destroy what you guys find to very important
and close. Take the steps needed to fix the problems.
